I must do something to protect my children and this world , so that they have a world to grow up in and to live in and to love. Alone I have no power to do much of anything that will change this world. But there is tremendous power in numbers. If enough women say that they will not vote for anyone who will do nothing about this problem, then the problem has a chance to be solved. So I am starting this blog, which I hope will lead to a group of women who will change the world for the better. We were all here when a war was started because the government thought that Saddam Hussein might, just might, have weapons of mass destruction. Now, next to the huge article on health care in the New York Times, is an article about this crazy Akmadimajad actually having everything he needs to blow up anyone he wants,( and he clearly wants to blow Israel off the map and anyone who supports Israel,)and I don't even see it reported on the news! It is almost like we have gotten so used to hearing about these terrorists that we say ,"Oh well, what are we going to do about health care and the environment?" Well, that is an awesome and important question, too. But if we forget that these
crazy people in the middle east who have friends in this country and throughout the world, are there, trying to figure out a way to destroy us, there will be no point in talking about the environment or health care at all. The wars we have been in are killing our young people and taking money we need for so many things at home, and leaving us in deficits the likes of which we have never seen in history. So I propose that we put our best thinking toward active solutions to these problems. I propose that we think about these issues and come up with answers and lobby to have our voices heard in Washington. We have tremendous power in numbers. But we need big numbers of members before anyone inWashington will listen to us at all. Let's not stand back and allow our world to be wrecked and our children's future destroyed while we watch. Let's work to find absolute solutions to these problems. No one works harder to solve problems like women, and mother's especially. Let us combine our best thinking to make this world make sense. There must be a way to stop allowing these leaders to have at it with our kid's lives. There must be a way to stop spending money to help people that hate us. There must be a way to get Saudi Arabia to do something to help us in the middle east. There is so much money there. What can we do to encourage them to step in and help? Are we so intimidated by the oil that they have, that we need that we cannot insist that help? All of the pieces of this country that we have allowed foreign countries to own, do we have any rights to that property, to those banks? Is there any hope of winning this war on Afghanistan? How could we leverage our power in the world to achieve our goals? Is there anything we can hold back that would help our cause? Are there any peoples we could not allow in our country until their country does the right things? I do not know the answers to any of these questions. BUT together I believe we can start a dialogue, and find answers to questions like these. Together, we can help solve the problems in this this country and we can save the Untited States of America, for our children, and our children's children. I hope you join me.
